The Alaska State Library has several items (books, recordings, photos)about the late former Governor Jay Hammond.

In addition, VILDA, Alaska's Virtual Library, has five photographs of Governor Hammond.

The Archives & Manuscripts Dept. of the UAA-APU Consortium Library also has archival materials from Governor Hammond. See

Thanks Arlene.

In my original post, I forgot to point out Governor Murkowski's press release on the death of Governor Hammond. The press release also links to audio content.

Also, I would like to apologize to anyone who found out about Governor Hammonds death through my original posting. I got one e-mail that seemed to indicate that my posting was their first news.

I've had a big spot in my heart for Gov. Hammond since I read Chips from the Chopping Block: More Tales from Alaska's Bush Rat Governor.
